M.A.S. Ltd. informs that it is implementing a project co-financed by European Funds from the POIR 2014-2020, Measure 1.1. R&D projects for enterprises, Sub-measure 1.1.1 Industrial research and development works carried out by enterprises entitled “Development of an innovative, multi-module chiller with increased energy efficiency.”
The goal of the project is to conduct industrial research, development and pre-implementation works aimed at developing an innovative multi-module ice water chiller with increased energy efficiency, using adsorption, compressor and free cooling technologies. The device will be integrated with a cold storage module based on phase change materials, a solar collector and photovoltaic panels. The hybrid system will significantly reduce electricity consumption from the network, which will lead to a reduction of CO2 emissions to the environment, as well as generate significant savings for the customer. The project is aimed to develop effective heat and mass exchangers in the adsorption chiller, so that this module will cooperate as efficiently as possible with the compressor system, for which research is also planned to improve energy efficiency. In addition, a dedicated cold storage unit with a high density of stored energy will be developed. This module will be adapted to the requirements of a chilled water generator, similarly, modules converting solar energy will be matched. In addition, an intelligent control system will be developed for the device, which, depending on the ambient temperature, solar energy supply and cooling demand, will optimize the operation of modules in order to minimize electricity consumption from the network, while ensuring the stability of cooling supplies.
